Sometime within the last 1-2 weeks my Surface Pro's type cover stopped working. Device Manager shows a failed 'type cover' device under Other Devices (with an exclamation point on it). I don't think it's a hardware issue because if I hold down Power and Volume Up to get into the UEFI screen then my Type Cover keyboard arrows work fine to navigate the menus.

On a side note, I've taken the type cover 2, and tried to swap it with a few others at work, and none seem to function on my Surface, but all covers work on the other devices. - Per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us..ubleshoot-your-surface-type-cover-or-keyboard I've tried uninstalling it and letting the driver re-install, but it just beeps continuously until I disconnect the type cover and then the Device Manager shows the same Other Devices failed device.
- I also tried going to Microsoft Download Center and re-installing the latest Surface Pro drivers software. No change.
- I also tried System Restore to go back to a system version from a couple days ago. No change.
- Reinstall the Surface Cover driver If shutting down doesn't fix the problem, try reinstalling the driver for your Surface Cover.
- FINALLY FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!!!!
- I have a Surface 3 with Swedish/danish/Norwegian type cover 3 and trusty installed. No matter what i cant get that type cover working. The touch pad has been working since day one but i cant get the keyboard to work. I have vendor id 07e2 when checking with lsusb (removing and plugging in the type cover).

Besides going to a Microsoft Store are there any other suggestions? Has anyone else had a Type Cover issue after a recent Windows Update?
